There are many cultures and religions that still believe in demonic possession. While I don’t believe that a ghost could possess someone’s body, I do think that they can influence someone’s behavior without that person realizing it. Demonic possession is different; theoretically demons are not the same as ghosts because they have never been born into a body. Today the Catholic Church still believes in demonic possession and even has priests that specialize in exorcisms to deal with this problem.
Demon possession is relatively rare; many cases are actually mental health issues, but for those rare cases that are real, there are a few signs to look for, such as change in personality and mental state. A person may become more aggressive or withdrawn, with a tendency toward violence. The person that is possessed may begin to have terrible nightmares and speak in a language that they do not know.
Another sign of demonic possession could be the person’s ability to tell future events or know about events in the past that they would have no way of knowing about.

Are There Ghosts in My House – Signs That Your House is Haunted
If you tend to hear footsteps on the stairs in the middle of the night, or lose objects and then find them later in an unlikely location, you may be asking yourself “are there ghosts in my house. I am including in this post some signs to look for that might indicate that your house is haunted.
Before looking at the list of signs that your house is haunted, keep in mind that no matter what is happening, you should always look for the most logical answer first. For example, all of the noises that you hear at night might be your house settling or your pipes banging, etc. Always rule natural causes out, before assuming that your house is haunted.
Something else that you will want to consider is the fact that not all hauntings will be the same, one haunting may involved certain types of behavior, completely different from another.
Noises that you can’t explain could be a sign that you are living in a haunted house. These can be knocks, sounds of something being dropped, doors slamming, etc. They can be barely audible or very loud.
Doors that open and close, or furniture that moves of its own accord. This will probably not be seen first hand, but you may leave a room and come back to see your dresser drawers open, or a piece of furniture in a different location than before.
Lights, TVs, and Radios that turn off and on. Again you may not witness it but notice that a light or TV has been switched on, when you know it was left off. Rarely will you actually see this happen, but once in a while you might.
Items that disappear and you find them in an unlikely place, or in a place where you know you looked several times and would not have missed it. This type of phenomena is common with haunted houses.
Additional signs that your house may be haunted include the feeling of being watched, or feeling as if someone has touched you. You may also notice what sounds like faint voices or whispers, and your pets may react strangely to something that you can’t see. Of course you may see an apparition; there be unexplained smells or you could be attacked physically, etc.
If you feel that your house is haunted and it is too much for you to handle on your own, you may want to consider calling in a psychic or a paranormal investigator to help you.
